usage of power up/on

Hello,

I’m not sure which choice (if any) sounds better to a native speaker:

  1. I powered my laptop on.
  2. I powered my laptop up.

Could you tell me how to say it naturally?

Neither is the best, but the second is a good variation. I’d say ‘I powered up my laptop’ (not separating the phrasal verb).
