usage of "from where I'm sitting"

Hello,

Can I say these sentences:

  1. From where I’m sitting what you’re doing is a waste of time.
  2. From where I’m standing what you’re doing is a waste of time.

By those phrases I meant “in my opinion”.

Thanks!

‘From where I stand’ is probably more correct, (as the term is a reference to a person’s stance on the matter, rather than a reference to the place in which they are standing or sitting) but those expressions as you’ve written them are in common use.

I see,
Thank you Bev!
