Usage: Have + Gotten

If I write/say:

(I have sent the file - This is the proper way - I know this.)
“I have got that File” - Is this correct?

‘Have’ should be used with ‘gotten’ - NOT 'got. Am I right?

You are correct in AmE but not in Britisj English.

BrE uses ‘have’ plus ‘got’. The word ‘gotten’ is not used at all other than as an American ‘import’.

Personally in your sentence, I would use ‘received’ instead.

Worth remembering that American English uses ‘have got’ for ‘own’ and ‘possess’ and ‘have gotten’ for ‘received’ and ‘acquired’· Interesting that ‘gotten’ started life in British English went to America and stayed there but British English abandoned it.

Has it actually been fully abandoned? I doubt because I think ‘ill-gotten wealth/lucre’ is still used in BrE. Do you agree?

I said “You are evidently wrong in consideration of what my sentence means”

evidently - “plainly or obviously; in a way that is clearly seen or understood”
On that occasion the addressee had explained what he thought the original idea conveyed. As this concurred with the sentence I had used, then it was plain to me (and would have been obvious to anyone else who understood my sentence) that he must have been incorrect in his consideration of what my sentence meant.

Atom (In Sanskrit - we call it as ‘Anu’ - The smallest particle which human-beings can not see with their eyes).

This component is the building block of this whole Universe, which is not REAL, but an Illusion/Myth - Hindu Vedas/Philosophy.

And God is nothing but one single thing (does not have shape/color/gender) which creates/mantains/destroys this whole Universe (or Illusion/Matrix). All the relligions/any other differentiators, are created by human beings, they are not real. The single consciousness (or God/Goddess/Something) has created the whole universe.

If you feel this is inappropriate, please remove it.
