URGENT! (in this status vs. at this status?)

How do you feel in/ at this status?

Which preposition???

I don’t know the full context, but “at” is my inclination.

The full sentence is:
And how do you feel at this new status Mrs. Wakeham?

Which means how does it feels to be married.

Hellooooooooooo!!!
Can anybody help me???!!!

Give us a chance! You only posted your explanation a short while ago!

‘And how do you feel about this new status, Mrs Wakeham?’
'And how do you feel at gaining/achieving this new status, Mrs Wakeham?

Hi dear Bev,

Missed you so much!!!

Thanks a lot, but it’s a bit late I have already sent the letter. I wrote the way Mordant had told me - ‘at this status’. Is it wrong?

It’s a very minor point so you should get away with writing it that way, but strictly speaking, now we know the full context, I think it should be as I’ve written above, with an addition similar to those I’ve posted between ‘at’ and ‘this’.

THANKS )))))))

Hello Bagheera,

I agree with what Bev has written and would also like to mention that it’s very difficult for people to answer questions such as yours when the intended meaning is not known.

Neither ‘in’ nor ‘at’ strikes me as particularly natural in your sentence. However, if I were forced to choose one of the two prepositions you provided, I’d choose ‘in’ for the context you eventually posted.

On the other hand, if I could choose any preposition, I’d probably use either ‘with’ or ‘about’ (as Bev mentioned) in the context you gave.

I think it would also be more typical to say ‘your new status’ rather than ‘this new status’.

Hi Bagheera,
Long time no see! Enjoyable Summer vacation …!
I couldn’t have found a sentence like:
“How do you feel at this status?”
on the Internet… Just google it.

Thank you Bev.
Who is your favourite moderator/language coach?
Maybe I should change my mind… I can not vote again!

Thank you Amy (Yankee)
I like your explanations.

Hey Yasha,
Yes, was on holiday, missed all of you much, glad to be back.
Thanks!!!

Yep, Beverley always rocks!!!

… usually it’s a sign that I’m about to fall over.

No, no, no, we don’t want you to fall over (what does it mean? have to consult the dict.!) we want you to be our teacher forever :-). See, even Yasha started liking you
That is a sign Beverley is second to none!!!

To fall over = fall from an upright or standing position to a horizontal or prone position… in other words, fall down onto the ground. It’s fatigue and old age, you know.

I don’t change my mind easily…!
As soon as she became a moderator I told that she is a born teacher, likable and hardworking.
A teacher should know how to treat learners in each category differently…

In a nutshell our Bev is simply the best
