i am finding it difficult to understand the following para:

“Without saying a word, he drew his gun and cut the officer’s down with a shower of lead and fired another bullet into the prostrate body.”

please explain to me “shower of lead” and prostrate body in the above paragraph

Hi Riaz,

With a shower of lead refers here to a large number of bullets being fired. Prostrate body means a body lying full length and face down on the floor/ground.
Incidentally you don’t need an apostrophe in your sentence. If the word is plural, it is simply officers
