two times a week or twice a week

I have read “two times a week” in an English textbook. I think twice a week is a correct expression. What about two times a week? is that a wrong expression?

In my book, it’s just an alternate way of saying “twice a week”. Oftentimes in English you can express the same thought in many ways.

I don’t quite understand. Is it right to say two times a week?

Yes you can say it with both ways:

  • I go shopping two times a week.

  • I go shopping twice a week.

I see. Thank you very much. For a long time, I have thought that when we talk about twice a week, there is only one way to express.
