TOEFL essay - tropical disease malaria

Hello! I am preparing myself for the essay part of the exam and would be happy, when someone could give me some feedback on it. I attach the original text and the script from the lecture. The automatic system gave me 3.5 out of 5 as a grade. Do you agree with that? Thanks in advance!

Essay:

According to text the humankind is strenuosly trying to withstand a tropical disease malaria but there are not a lot of effective options to do that.

First solution that is being suggested in the text is to use some modern medicine to treat the infected patients. While it sounds plausible, the lecturer emphasizes that it is only a temprorary solution but not a cure against the disease. Moreover, he claims that the mosquitoes have been adopting over time and that’s why some of the past treatments are no longer effective and now completely useless as the disease became resistant to them.

As the second option that could help against this unpleasant disease is mentioned a strategy of killing the mosquitoes in order to prevent a contagious disease from spreading further. However, the lecturer is convinced that it’s almost impossible due to the countless amount of the mosquitoes: It’s highly unlikely to reach all of them with chemicals so that they cease to exist and die completely out.

The last but not least strategy that is being discussed in the text is a sterilization of the insects. The lecturer agrees that this solution is the most effective one of all mentioned above as it’s harmless for the people and actually works on the male masquitoes. Nevertheless, the scientists have found out that this approach still can’t solve the problem; somehow the male mosquitoes after they become sterile are no longer attractive for the female ones and, hence, it’s not not enough to produce unsterilized eggs so that these insects die out.

Taking all of the options to prevent the malaria from spreading into consideration, our modern science still couldn’t find an effective way to cure the people or force the masquitoes to extinct.

According to the text, mankind is trying with all its might to fight the tropical disease malaria, but there are not many effective ways to do so.

The first solution proposed in the text is to use modern medicine to treat the infected patients. While this sounds plausible, the lecturer stresses that it is only a temporary solution, not a cure for the disease. He also claims that mosquitoes have adapted over time and therefore some of the previous treatments are no longer effective and are now completely useless as the disease has become resistant to them.

However, the lecturer is convinced that this is almost impossible due to the countless mosquitoes: it is highly unlikely that they can all be reached with chemicals so that they cease to exist and die out completely.

The final strategy discussed in the text is to sterilize the insects. The lecturer agrees that this solution is the most effective of all the above, as it is harmless to humans and actually works on male mosquitoes. Nevertheless, scientists have found that this approach cannot solve the problem; somehow, after becoming sterile, male mosquitoes are no longer attractive to females, and therefore, producing unsterilized eggs is not enough for these insects to die out.

Taking into account all the ways to prevent the spread of malaria, our modern science has still not been able to find an effective way to cure people or force the mosquitoes to die out.
