Although some people prefer to make decisions on their own, I would rather consult my parents, family, and friends beforehand. Asking for advice before making a crucial decision can spare me some trouble, make me wiser, and teach me important lessons.
First, I am used to asking my parents for a piece of advice whenever I am confronted with a difficulty. Not only do my parents understand me, but they also conduct themselves in a way that encourages and relaxes me. Thus, when I have to make a crucial decision, I always turn to my parent who give me valuable advice. They are indeed my best teachers, for they teach me the most important lessons in life. My parents show me how to react in various types of situations, how to sort out problems, and how to make decisions. To quote my father, “Life is just making decisions and doing actions.”
In addition to being helpful, making decisions with the help of other people makes me wiser, more independent, self-confident, and mature. Since I am still in my teens, I need more experienced people to tell me what the right thing to do in a certain situation is. Listening carefully to my relatives’ advice helps me become less naïve. Consequently, I see things from a different perspective. Moreover, people I know and trust implicitly can prevent me from making stupid mistakes, which can affect my future life.
Finally, consulting with other people before making an important decision can spare me some trouble. Generally, careless decisions can affect one’s life in an unpredictable way. Very often, young people make decisions they are sorry for ever after. It is a pity that a single decision can ruin one’s life. Hence, I believe that asking for my parents’ or friends’ help and advice is indeed important and necessary.
As seen above, it is very true that making a decision after consulting my friends and family benefits me in numerous ways. Thus, I believe people should not make decisions alone.
Many thanks in advance
