To-infinitive or Bare-infinitive

Hi,

Please tell me both are correct or only one is correct:

a/ My purpose is to go there.
b/ My purpose is go there.

What I wonder is:

For “Be + infinitive” (express the purpose), infinitive here is to-infinitive or bare-infinitive? Or both are correct?

Thanks
K

Hi Van Khanh,

My purpose is going there.

My purpose is to go there is predicative.

Thanks,

But if I’d like to write:

My purpose is go there.

Is it correct in grammar?

Khanh

Hi Khanh

No, that is not correct.
