Hi,
I know that if we say something is mixed. It means there are both positive parts and negative parts in it. But when “something” is replaced with the positive word “success”, what does that mean?
Thanks.
Justin

As in:
The company had mixed success in the States.
?
It means the fortunes were mixed… sometimes it was more successful than others (and can also include the idea that sometimes they were successful while at other times they were unsuccessful).
