I was lucky yesterday. My partner, whom I broke up with a few weeks ago, bashed me. My face is in ruins, but in time it will restore itself, for the most part. He feels rejected and has been following me, since the break-up. Could you say in this case: ‘By breaking up with him, I did myself a mischief.’?

No No No
I would rewrite this as follows:
“By breaking up with him I now know that I saved myself from an on-going relationship of violence that could have resulted in serious injury or death. I’m filing charges.”
I could not come up with a simple substitution because you did not do anything to yourself. He did it to you.
