"Till now, I am not aware of this Process" is this correct.

“Till now, I am not aware of this Process” is this correct.
Do I need to Capitalise the letter - "p"rocess always?
Thanks,
Suresh

Hi Suresh

Using the words “this process” suggests to me that you are aware of the process, but the words “till now” suggest that you only became aware of it just a moment before now or a very short time ago. Therefore, I would use the simple past tense:

  • Till/Until now I wasn’t aware of this process.

Is that the meaning you intended? Or do you mean that someone has mentioned a particular process and you don’t know any details about it? If that’s the case, you could just say this:

  • I don’t know anything about this process (yet).

The word “process” is a common noun. Basically, you should never capitalize it unless it is part of a proper noun, or it is the first word in a sentence.

In addition, you shouldn’t capitalize the verb “capitalize”.

Hi Yankee,
You are right. Because of our company rules, I can’t give the exact name.

Scenario:
We have different scripts (eg: java,vb). I had asked about a script and one Developer replied. He told me that “this” was a java script.

In reply to his answer, I wrote ---- “Till now I am not aware that this is a java script”.
In this context, is this proper?

So, “Till/Until now + was” is the right combination?
“Till now I did not upload it”.

Can anybody tell me from your view (Native English speaker/language teacher)-what does this mean - “Till now, I am not aware of this Process”, so that I see this from your perspective and will correct my language.

Thanks,
Suresh

Hi Suresh

If you know (are aware) now that “this” is a java script (because a developer has just told you that “this” is a java script), that means that before now you were not aware of that fact.

  • “Till/until now I was not aware that this is a java script”. (Till now = before now)
  • “Now I am aware that this is a java script”.

I prefer “until”.
If you mean that you uploaded it only just a moment ago, then I would say this:

  • “I did not upload it until just now.” (= I uploaded it a very short time ago)

If you have not uploaded the file, but expect to upload it soon, then you can say this:

  • “I have not uploaded it yet”.
