_.-._They're great

Hi!

Doctor: How is your health in general?
Man: It’s fine.
Doctor: Good, and what about your family’s health?
Man: They’re great. They’re all healthy. ←
Doctor: Good. Your eyes look normal.
Man: Aha.
Doctor: I’m going to look into your ears now. ←

They’re great.

1- What is the best synonym for “great” here?

2- Is “look into” a phrasal verb here?

Thank you

Great is a strong form of good. So you could say “very good” or “really good”.

“Fantastic” might also be used, but might be too strong.

Here “look into” just has the simple meaning to “look in” to see what’s there.

But, another use of “look into” is:
“A: What’s wrong with Project xyz?
“B: I don’t know. I’ll look into it.”

In this case it means to study or research something.

‘Fine’ would be a good synonym for ‘great’ and yes, ‘to look into’ is a phrasal verb.
