The time today is the same as yesterday and other question. Please help me.

  1. “The time today is the same as yesterday”. It is just a joke when someone asks me “what time is it?” Is it right?

Are these sentences right? Because I myself write them, I do not know they are right or not. So please help me.

  1. I usually take part in different activities at recess in school.

  2. it takes my sister two hours per day to learn English.

  3. My brother learns less than me.

  4. I play volleyball for the school team.

  1. You would have to say something like “It’s the same time it was yesterday at this time.” Not sure how funny it is though

  2. sounds ok - “during recess” might be better

  3. ok grammatically, but it sounds a little odd to me, as “learning English” does not seem specific enough - how do you know that 2 hours a day is enough? How do you know when you have “learned English” for the day?

  4. ok

  5. ok

Many thanks Luschen for your help.

Some more things, Please help me

  1. He is in/ at America. I prefer “in/ or from” not “at”

  2. Would you like joining/ to join our picnic.

  3. Her date of birth is on twelve May. I guess that it is wrong of word “twelve”. I have to change it into the ordinal number: “twelfth” right?

  4. There is a storm.

  1. ‘In’ is correct. ‘At’ would be wrong when speaking about a country,
2 ‘To join’ is the correct form there.
  2. You are correct - the twelfth of May. ‘on’ is not necessary.
  3. is okay grammatically. I can’t tell whether it carries your intended meaning.

In message #1, your first set of questions, you have missed a capital letter in sentence 3.

Many thanks Tutor,

However, in # 3 this root sentence is "Her date of birth is on twelve May.’ I have to find out the mistake and correct, but I was powerless. Please help me more.

What does it mean in the sentence: “It io one- forty five”

And I have to rewrite the sentence with the begin is “It is …” What does (One-forty five) mean in this case. Many thanks. I have read some books but I could not find out the answer.

The mistake is ‘twelve’ - you had already found it.

It is one forty-five
is another way of saying
It is quarter to two.

Many Thanks Beeeneees. Your suggestion is really helpful for me.

It helps me improve my English skill a lot.
