The results vs the result

Can someone please explain the different between

The results vs the result

One with “s”

The only difference is in the number of results.

results - plural. There is more than one result under discussion.
result - singular. There is only one result under discussion.

How about
The results show vs the result show
One without 'S"

These two are correct:

The results show… (plural noun, 3rd person plural verb)
The result shows… (singular noun, 3rd person singular verb)

‘The result show’ is incorrect, unless it is the title of a television/radio show.

Beeee,
I am not very clear of your explainations, please give me a couple of examples.
I’m having prolem using “s”, noun-verb agreement or others. In my writing either “s” is miising " or not suppose to be there.
Many thanks,
jimic

‘The results show’ is the same structure as ‘the cats sing’ (plural nouns)
compared to
‘The result shows’ / ‘the cat sings’. (singular nouns)

Compare these:
singular - ‘s’ added to the verb.
The lady sings a song
He walks down the road.
She sits on a bench.
The man kicks the ball.

plural - no ‘s’ added to the verb.
The ladies sing a song.
They walk down the road.
They sit on a bench.
The men kick the ball.
