Both words can be used as adjectives.
The difference between economic and economical:
Economic tends to be used more broadly. Itâs usually related to money, but it doesnât have to be.
Economical is more commonly used more like âefficientâ. It refers to doing things the cheaper or easier way.
The difference between the two words has more to do with common usage rather than a fixed dictionary definition.
âThe presentation focused on the gross national product and the impact that this has on the economic situation of the country. â
*A small car is more economical to drive than a large car.
The first sentence uses the word more broadly. The second sentence uses the word more narrowly to mean cheaper and more energy efficient.
