Although you might see quite a few people using ‘pls’ (in online chatrooms, for example), I would not recommend using ‘pls’ in your writing. Look at this sentence:
“Please help me.”
The word please makes the command “Help me” more polite. It seems to me that if you want to be polite about asking someone to go to the trouble of helping you, then you ought to at least go to the trouble of spelling please with all of its letters.
