The Internet has made our lives easier and more convenient

Can someone please check and correct the mistakes, if there are any? Thanks.

There is no doubt that internet has made our life easier and more convenient. In today’s world we can’t imagine ourselves spending a few hours without internet. It is a fact that each coin has two sides, and the internet is not an exception.
From my point of view, one of the best advantages of the internet is that you can find information on almost every subject imaginable. You can use powerful search engines and in a heartbeat you will be bombarded by a never ending list of websites related to the topic you are looking for. Few years ago you had to visit the library if you were doing a research. Nowadays you can do your research in the comfort of your home. Communication via internet is also another advantage which is commonly used by many people. People can use online message forums to discuss ideas on any topic and get a wide range of opinions instantly. Through internet we can also send emails. It is a free mail service where people can send and receive emails instantly no matter how far they are. You can also use apps like SKYPE to hold a video conference with anyone in the world who also has access. I believe that the internet is one of the most important components of today’s world. It has made the whole world a global village and has changed our lifestyle entirely. Friendships have been made over the internet by people who share the same passions and hobbies. Internet is also a source of enterntainment. Online games, chatting, music, movies, and TV shows are becoming the most common sources of entertainment and they are easily accessible just because of the internet. In my opinion, people nowdays spend much more time surfing the internet rather than watching TV. This is so because it is more accessible and cheaper. Online shopping is also another advantage for many internet users. Online shopping is convient because there are no lines to wait in or cashiers to track down to you with your purchases. Very often the prices are cheaper and there is a wider selection of items to choose from than in local shops. Last but not least, you can also visit news portals from all over the world to see what is happening around the globe. Being updated on what is going around us has never been so much easy.
Unfortunately the internet has its own disadvantages aswell. In my opinion, one of the worst disadvantages of the internet is the misinformation. On the internet there is a lot of wrong information and fake news because anyone can post anything, and much of it is garbage. There are also predators that hang out on the internet waiting to get unsuspecting people in dangerous situations. Others are getting addicted to the internet and thus causing problems with their interactions of friends and loved ones. Becoming addicted to the internet has also another repurcussion because it is easy to end up wasting a lot time. You can start surfing the internet, and then realize far more time has passed than you realized. Moreover, internet and television together are the main cause to a sendentary lifestyle. From my point of view, the latter is the reason why the obesity problem is out of control. Another disadvantage is that there are a lot of unscrupulous businesses that have sprung on the internet to take advantage of people by defrauding them. On the other hand, hackers can create viruses that can get into your personal computer and ruin valuable data. Others can use the internet for identity theft.
To sum it up, like everything in this world, internet has its advantages and disadvantages. In my opinion, I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages by far. From my point of view, internet is an indispensable powerful tool which should be used responsibly. Otherwise, we could easily harm ourselves and others.
