the food has not been served yet

Hi,

Can I say “the food has not been served yet” if I want to remind the waiter/waitress about the orders?
For example:

Excuse me, we ordered set B 30 minutes ago. But, it (the food) has not been served yet. Could you check with the kitchen, please?

Thanks a bunch.

In that situation, I would suggest:
Excuse me, but we haven’t received our order yet.

If I am wrong, I wonder is there any other way to express what I intended to say?

Thanks.
English is not my first language.

Hah - our posts collided. See above.

LoL…thanks for the prompt reply.
Sorry, If I order more than few items on the menu, should it be “order” or “orders”?

‘order’ is fine. It includes all the items that you (and anyone else in your party) ordered.

If there is more than one person, you could use ‘orders’ but you don’t have to do so - it will still be correct if you say order.
You only need to use ‘orders’ is if you are asking about the orders of more than one person and they were not ordered at the same time. (For example, if you placed an order, then 5 minutes later your friend came in and placed a separate order.)
