Hi teachers,
The cricket match remained one-sided from the beginning. Correct it, please.
Many thanks.
Hi teachers,

To me the sentence needs rephrasing, ‘remain’ being a linking verb and meaning ‘to continue to be something’. (Leaving it how it is, would sound as if the match was a one-sided event even before it started—to ‘remain one-sided from the beginning’).
I would go for “The cricket match started as a one-sided event/contest and remained such till the end.” Or, given the specifics of sports terminology, “The cricket match was a one-sided event/contest from first to last.”
It cannot ‘remain’ something from the beginning. You should just use ‘was one sided’ there.
Thank you.
The cricket match was one sided from the beginning. Correct?
yes
Beeesneees,
Can I say?:
“The cricket match was found one sided from (the beginning)/(first to last).”
That would have to be ‘found to be one-sided’ and it would not be used in the same way as the original. It would indicate some sort of examination of the match play at a later date, to find out what had happened. As such, it is highly unlikely.
