"the corner of my heart"

I know the idiom “apple of my eye” means that something / somebody is very important to me.
In my mothertongue this has an alternative, the English loan translation of which would be
“the corner of my heart”.

I wonder whether native speakers of British / American English would say such a thing.
Or “apple of my eye” is the only way to express this relation / attitude?

English does not use your Hungarian idiom. ‘She is close to my heart’ is close to it, though.

It was also dubious about it, but wanted to make sure that it doesn’t work.
“close to my heart” is in use in Hungarian as well.
