Agression in sports games has become inevitably important issue than ever all over the world in recent years. Many countries make a great effort in order to prevent violence in sports games. This problem requires people living there to have awareness about aggressive behaviours in sports games. The most considerable causes are disappointment with the team’s performance, inadequate security measures and mob psychology.
Disappointment with the team's performance can be regarded as the most remarkable cause of aggression in sports games. That is to say, although vast audience desiring their teams to display good performance, their teams cannot have adequate effort.Consequently, these fans may have a tendency to be aggressive towards their teams or other clubs' fans. For example,in 2000,many Leeds United fans behaved aggressively towards Galatasaray fans because of dissatisfaction with Leeds United's performance, which gives rise to to nothing but aggression in sports games.
Inadequate security measures are also of importance as a cause of violence in sports games. It can easily be said that security barriers are removed by many sports clubs and their own security guards can be insufficient to protect aggressive behaviours. To illustrate this point,in many football matches lack of security measures can result in unexpected events which have huge damage for fans and clubs.
As for mob psychology,it can indusputably be asserted that this matter tremendously contributes to aggression in sports games.Ordinary people resorting to violence due to being part of a big angry group. No matter how careful people in charge are, people somehow manage to do this. For instance, many fan groups may trigger people who attend a sports game even at first time to provoke sportsmen with cheers and jeers. As clearly seen, mob psychology is directly proportional with aggression in sports games.
When all is considered ,it is obviously fact that dissatisfaction with the team's performance, insufficient security measures and mob psychology have a positive correlation among each other. In order for aggression in sports games to prevent, government should impose strict fines.
