The biggest hurdle of all vs. The major hurdle of all

“In the US, you can drive thousands of miles west to east without changing countries, but the Briton first has to cross the Channel - which often proves to be the biggest hurdle of all.”

Can i say “… which often proves to be the major hurdle of all” as well?

Thanks in advance. Greetings.

Biggest.

You can use ‘major’ with a different structure.

…which proves to be a major hurdle.

I think you can say, "… which often proves to be one of the major hurdles” but the meaning conveyed by ‘biggest’ will be lost.
