The best way to improve the quality of education is to increase teachers' salarie

Hi, Kitos. Could you check it? Thank you very much~

The best way to improve the quality of education is to increase teachers’ salaries.

Some people may think if a government wants to improve an education system, the best way is to increase teachers’ salaries. However, according to my personal experience, I disagree with this idea because of the following reasons.

First of all, high salaries do not mean that teacher will teach better. High salaries may attract more people to be teachers. I believe there will be more and more smart teachers, if teachers’ salaries. However, a smart teacher may not be a good teacher. They may not like teaching or children, but just like money. Therefore, I do not think increase teachers’ salaries will improve the quality of education a lot.

Second, to help teachers teach better, government should spend money on training teachers. Some teachers like teaching very much, but they do have good teaching skills. Hence, government can provide some courses to them to teach them how to teach. For example, my math teacher in the elementary school was very good at math, but he did not understand children. If he had taken some children psychology courses, I think he could teach better.

Third, spending money on scholarships to students and schools’ equipment is important, too. Having good teachers is not enough for a good education system. It should also include good students and good environment. For example, scholarships can increase students’ will to study, because students do not need to worry about money and work. Furthermore, good equipment, like a library, helps student to have a place and resources to study.

In conclusion, I do not think the best way to improve the quality of education is to increase teachers’ salaries. It is better to spend money on training teachers, scholarships and schools’ equipment.

Some people may think if a government wants to improve an education system, the best way /is to/WOULD BE TO/ increase teachers’ salaries. However, according to my personal experience, I disagree with this idea because of the following reasons.

I believe there will be more and more smart teachers, if teachers’ salaries…???

However, a smart teacher may not be a good teacher. They may not like teaching or EVEN LIKE children, but just like money. Therefore, I do not think increasING teachers’ salaries will improve the quality of education a lot.

Second, to help teachers teach better, government should spend money on training teachersTHEM BETTER. Some teachers like teaching very much, but they do have good teaching skills. Hence, government can provide some courses THAT ALLOW THEM to them to teach them how to teach TRAIN THESE NEWER TEACHERS. For example, my math teacher in the elementary school was very good at math, but he did not understand children. If he had taken some CHILD psychology courses, I think he could teach HAVE TAUGHT better.

Third, spending money on scholarships FOR students and schools’ equipment is important, too. Having good teachers is not enough TO SUSTAIN a good educationAL system. It should also include good students and good environment. For example, scholarships can increase students’ will to study, because students do not need to worry about money and work. Furthermore, good equipment, like a library, helps student to have a place and resources to study.

Thank you very much!

I forgot to finish the sentence. It should be “I believe there will be more and more smart teachers, if teachers’ salaries increase.”
And I have a question. In " Hence, government can provide some courses THAT ALLOW THEM to TRAIN THESE NEWER TEACHERS", what does THEM mean? government?
Furthermore, should I add “A” before “government”? or make it plural?

Thank you again in advance.

You can say “governments”, or “the government.”
Them does refer to the government.
