The best SAT prep books

Hi guys i know that the thread below is about the same topic but besides the website that you guys provided in ur opinions which book do u think is the best to get?

I prefer books full of practice tests bc all of the drills and concepts can be learned easier online (imo). I suggest books by princeton review if you really need the physical pages.

not only 1 but multiple books are needed if you really want to get 2000+ by yourself, here’s the list and the reason why:
1.collegeboard 2007 8 SAT practice exams— official guide, not too much help on the explanation, but the practice exams are just as hard as real exams. good evaluation.
2.Barron’s SAT 23rd edition(or 24th)— it offers lots of details, examples and explanations.
3.Kaplan’s SAT(newest edition) for a specific subject, let’s say you struggle in verbal, then get the Kaplan verbal practice book, it has good tips.
Optional ones:
11 practice exams of Princeton Review: decent practice tests, except all of them are missing the experimental section, which made it shorter, therefore slightly easier for people who dies in the end. But the difficulty is made up via harder problems.
10 Collegeboard practice exams: again, rigorous practice exams made by test makers.
Some of the Barron’s workbooks for specific subjects have been recommended by my friends, but i doubted the volume of it.(amount of materials)
At last, one of my friend who got 2250 on the SAT on first try said the Arco aka Peterson’s SAT practice book(the one has yellow vocab on the back and it says it contains a CD, red cover) was helpful.

Again, some people can afford the tutoring expensive(rich bastards, shames on you), besides those rich people, some people might prefer online prep courses(free or not depends on you) rather than sitting down at chairs doing 5-30 practice exams.

By the way uh, many people recommand princeton review, but again, i think this book is for novices, because of its easy wording and layout, people who have limited motivation on SAT can use Princeton review b/c it makes people feel more comfortable.

to add on to my post, the best online prep course is hands down www.smartdoodle.com especially since it’s free

Yeah princeton review and kapla n books are a waste of time. I tried them, and they didn’t work for me at all. I recommend the SAT guide on guideparadise.com , helped me get a 2270.

I paid $899 for a Kaplan course and I didn’t improve my score at all. I paid $10 for TutorFox’s SAT guide and I improved my score over 250 points…You do the math…I found the guide at tutorfox.com/satguide.html
