Fruit and vegetable

Reporter: I’m here with Carlos in his fruit and vegetable store and Carlos is going to help me make a salad. Carlos, could you start up picking out some vegetables.

Carlos: OK. Yes, use nice Spanish onion.

Reporter: Spanish onions, of course we always need that.

Carlos: Nice red pepper.

Reporter: Aha, a red pepper. Aha, and what about this here?

Carlos: Some cauliflower.

Reporter: Cauliflower. Very good, and Carlos what do you have here on special?

Carlos: Special, I got five lemons 1 dollar, extra large.

Reporter: Five lemons, extra large for 1 dollar. We can make a really good salad dressing with that. So there we have it, and we shouldn’t forget the lettuce if we’re going to make a salad, right Carlos?

Carlos: That’s true. ←

OK. Very good, thank you.

1- What does really Carlos say?

  • That’s true or something else?

2- What does “what do you have here on special” mean?

Thank you

I believe he says something in Italian.

That would be “on sale” or “at a special price”. It would be a featured item, usually at a reduced price.
