Television has destroyed communication among friends and family,

I Will take IBT test next week, could you help me please?

In this day and age, we can see that television programs become interesting and entertaining. As a proverb says, “everything has two sides”; There are certain people who agree that the content of television programs has damaged communication among peers and relatives. They feel that some television programs give negative effects to people’s relationship. On the other hand, there are some people who disagree that relationship among people can be broken by the television. Personally, I believe that some television program can damage friendship among friends or relatives for two reasons.

One of the reasons is some content on the television programs are wasting our time. People, especially children and teenagers, like to watch TV for hours. For example, when I was a teenager, I like to watch various TV movie series like ‘The A Team’, ‘Airwolf’ and ‘Full House’. Thus, I spent most of my time to watch TV. As a result, I did not have much time to study and to interact with my friends or my families. Indeed, watching TV for hours can damage our relationship with our families or relatives .

Another reason is today many TV channels provide entertaining programs such as movies, news, and sport events. Consequently, many people prefer watching TV to attending family’s event. For instance, I like football very much and I always watching the football match on TV. I don’t want to miss these programs especially when there is a big match on TV.

From what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that some content on TV program can damage the relationship among friends and relatives. We usually spent our time mostly by watching TV and some of TV content distract our attention.

Good afternoon Siantarmen, and WELCOME. This was a very good essay for your first submission. A small problem with prepositions, but that will hopefully disappear with the
practice you can have here by submitting further work.

The invention of television was undoubtedly an exceptional breakthrough in technology. As a matter of fact, it drastically changed the human life in many ways. However, like many other technological advances, the creation of television came at a big cost. Some people argue that despite of all the advantages that the television has brought to our lives, it has destroyed one of the most important tools in family life and friendships: Communication.

Before the invention of television people used to resort to books, music, family discussions, and other activities to amuse themselves. With the creation of the television, however, the entertainment industry has entirely changed the ways people used to entertain themselves. In the past ,for instance, the main source of information was attainable primarily through reading. But with access to a TV set people can easily get the news they want with a push of a button instead of flipping through a newspaper for hours on end. Furthermore, the fabrication of movies gives people a great opportunity to enjoy their favorite stories effortlessly. Additionally, the TV broadcasts a cocktail of programs that cater for a variety of tastes and interests. One can only sit back on a couch and choose from a collection of programs all day.

On the other hand, the creation of the television has put an end to communication, which has always been an integral part in every single relationship. Before, family time was characterized by open discussions. Since there was no source of entertainment other than books, a family gathering used to be a golden opportunity to learn valuable lessons and discuss several subjects of different natures. Nowadays, however, several people prefer to spend their quality time watching a TV sitcom rather than communicating with each other. This lack of communication in our present households is due to the excessive use of TV. Even friends seem to communicate less because of watching too much TV. Personally, whenever I meet my friends we wind up watching a movie that renders us speechless to utter a word to each other.

In a nut shell, TV is without a doubt a conception of a genius. In spite of its drawbacks, it has always been an important means of entertainment. I think that the best way to keep family communication is via controlling the use of television.
