Technological advancements happen at such a rapid rate that it is hard for a country to keep up and remain competitive.

This is true especially for Germany which has been falling behind when it comes to every single new technology and business model ever since the mid 1990s. If we don’t replace our current government and make drastic changes Germany will be soon become obsolete and irrelevant.
