Teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn.

Teachers play an indispensable role in modern societies. Many people believe that teachers should be paid as much as they deserve. Nonetheless, due to students’ willingness and unequal abilities as well as teachers’ virtue, teachers’ payment should not be determined according to how much their students learn.
First, not every student learns enthusiastically and does his best in class. As the saying goes “You can take the horse to the water but you cannot make him drink”, teachers are not to blame for bad results of the students going to school reluctantly. Besides, students usually spend most of their time practicing their favorite subjects. Consequently, to what extend a student can learn depends much on his likings and willingness, not entirely on his teacher’s standard.
Second, students have unequal abilities. Obviously, teachers will do their utmost to impart comprehension to their students as much as possible, but this does not mean that all students can accept the knowledge equivalently. Truly, students in the same class greatly vary in their capabilities. Therefore, some students’ bad marks cannot devalue their teachers.
Last, exemplary teachers are not motivated by money. Their income is only a means helping them to achieve their goals, not the purpose of their teaching. The fact remains that many teachers work dedicatedly and effectively despite their poverty, which makes them the most admirable. In contrast, people evaluating their aptitudes with money might deeply hurt their honor.
All in a word, teachers’ payment should not be based on how much their students learn because of students’ willingness and limited capacities, and teachers’ self-respect. However, it is worth paying much attention to improving teachers’ living conditions so that they can fully concentrate on their teaching and work the most productively.

Good work Uyen, but not up to your usual standard.

Kitos. 8/10

Oh. I’m terribly sorry, sir! Maybe I have written it in a little hurry. Well, I think I should write less and make greater effort in each of my work rather than post my essays too often. ^^
I’ll be better the next time.

Don’t be upset Uyen. I know your success is very important to you … to me also. Relax and enjoy your writing.

Thank you very much, Sir! I seem a very ambitious girl, huh? ^^ I’ll relax as you suggest. Hopefully my work’ll be better. Wait to see my improvement ^^
