Teacher's Room or Teachers' Room

I have problem with possesive s. Please help me. Thank you.Which sentence is correct?
We have coffee in the Teachers’ Room at 10:00.
or, We have coffee in the Teacher’s Room at 10:00.

We have coffee in the Teachers’ Room at 10:00.

hi Kitosdad,

I just wonder what happens if “the teacher´s room” would refer to the fact that a very special teacher has his / her own room.

For example:

“we have coffee at Mr. Kitosdad´s room.” Since Mr. Kitosdad is a single teacher we also could say “we have coffee at the teacher´s room”, can´t we?
Of course, in case several persons named Mr. Kitosdad have one room in common we might say ." we have coffee at Mr.Kitosdads´room"

But I guess “Teachers´ Room” is a fix term, isn´t it?

thanks in advance for enlightenment
Michael

thanks for very much for your explanation Mr.Kitosdad, but i have the same question as Michael:

  • Is “Teachers’ Room” or “Teacher’s Room” a fix term because i search in the net and saw that Teacher’s Room is used a lot?
  • and is there any difference between “Teachers’ Room” and “teachers’ room”?
