sunflower seeds

Hi,

Sunflower seeds are a kind of snack in some countries.
I’d like to know; what kind of verb I can use with this kind of foods?

I can have nuts. Can I [color=red]have sunflower seeds,too?
That is my question.

There is no particular type of verb that has to be uised with a food. It depends on the sentence.
Generally, whatever you say about one food, you can say about another.

Definitely.

I was told that sunflower always follow every direction of the sun from dawn to sunset, in order to get the continuous sun-rays and to regenerate. Wonderful instincts of nature.

Thank you.

Hi Bev,

By the way, can we say “I’m cracking/nibbling sunflower seeds” in lieu of “I’m eating sunflower seeds”?

I wouldn’t say ‘cracking’ as, unlike nuts, they are eaten whole.

Thanks!
But on second thought, you don’t eat the hulls do you? Or do you have de-hulled seeds in mind?

The seeds are usually de-hulled before being sold.

This is really good site for learning the language. Thanks
