The maps illustrate the changes that Strokeford village undergone over a period of 80 years, between 1930 and 2010.
Overall, there were significanty changes in the village in terms of housing, facilities and structure. Nevertheless, the post office and the River Stroke remained the same over the given period.
In 1930, there had been some farmland situated to the northwest of the village, close to a residential area and primary school building and to the south, near to the right river’s edge. Furthemore, there had been a large house in the gardens and shops in the left side of the bridge situated among some houses.
Eight years later, the residential area increased through the farmaland area which disappeared. In addition, the large house situated in the gardens and the primary school building were extended. The later was replaced by a retirement house. Regarding the main road, some paths were created.
Hi Nayara, your writing started off well, but I think using left and right will not work with this type of question. I would give an overview of the area, using the river, bridge and main road and markers and go from there. You can’t really assume the reader is looking at the map, they just want to know how the town is arranged. You also had a couple of factual mistakes, like the “northwest” and “eight years”. I am not sure how much they would penalize you though.
