Good morning!
In a digital circuit or system, static discipline defines the “logic high”, “logic low”, VOH (output high), VOL (output low), VIH (input high) voltages, and noise margin values. The values are usually chosen according to the Robustness principle (which is also known as Postel’s Law).
Could you tell me what is the literal meaning of “static discipline” here?
I think I know what “discipline” means but “static” is killing me. Why it is called “static discipline”?
To be honest, I really can’t study the notion without understanding its lateral meaning.
