Hi, I will post my answer to the practice test #2 that you can find here

Any feedback and rating is really appreciated!
#1
my personal grade: 3
Not enough vocabulary. Not clearly explaining why I love studying there.
#2
my personal grade: 4
another “ready” answer, since I faced it before.
I think it is ok
listen to the problems I faced.
#3
my personal grade: 3
I ran out of time, but I think I covered all the points.
#4
my personal grade: 3,5
not so bad, even if I could have missed some information
#5
my personal grade: 3,5
Good content, don’t know about fluency and pronounciation to receive a 4.
#6
my personal grade: 2,5
I was unsure if I would give myself a 2,5 or a 3. There is some good information, but definitely I have low skills in summarizing something in English.
so, my auto-raw score is 19.5.
Average is 3.25 for each question. According to ets.org/Media/Tests/TOEFL/pd … Rubric.pdf,
I would receive a 26
Please rate me without any problem and tell me if my opinion is biased somewhere. Thank you.
I would agree with this assessment. You said it was large and quiet, but then said you won’t see your friends and be bothered by them, which doesn’t really follow. I did think your delivery deserved a 4 - only topic development was weaker
I agree with you - topic development and language use were good, the only fault would be the delivery, but I guess I would consider them “minor lapses”, which are still ok for a 4.
Ha, when I first started listening to your response, I thought the question was “imagine you are taking a test and the recording device does not work - explain to the teacher the problems you had and ask to redo the test”
The listening passage used a lot of idioms - were you able to understand all of them? I think you should start off by saying that the new rules are tougher, with shorter check-out times, fewer allowed books, and higher fines {you said fees, but a penalty charge is called a fine} I also think you need to stress that the woman thinks the tougher rules will reduce the number of books needlessly checked out and so increase the availability of books in the library. You sort of addressed this point, but not really directly. I would say you are right in giving this a 3.
I think they may give this one a 4 - the only bad point was the large pause towards the beginning. Your content was very good though. I was surprised he kept saying “web two”. I would always say “web two point oh”, but your “web two point zero” is fine too. He sounded Australian to me - do you find some accents easier to understand that others?
I would give this a 4, I thought your fluency was fine and I didn’t have any problems understanding any words.
I think I would give you a 3 - the information you present is good and well organized, you just missed some points - most importantly that the hands can do both delicate tasks as well as ones depending on strength. Also, we can feel textures and blind people actually “see” with their hands. Also, the term is “opposable” thumb, not “opposite”, but the only time in English we ever use this word is when talking about thumbs, so I bet you have probably never heard it. So when you listen to this, do you write down the main points in Italian and translate as you are speaking? Just wondering.
Hey Luschen, your feedbacks really boost my confidence - I don’t know if you are aware of this since you know I’m going to have my test tomorrow -.
Anyway,
#4 yes, the guy is Australian, but I cannot distinguish his different accent from an American speaker, to be honest.
#6 No I take notes in English, but I never heard of “opposable”, so while listening and taking notes, probably I jotted down “opposite” since it is the only word I know.
According to your grades, I would receive a 27. This would be AMAZING!!!
Thank you so much Luschen
Yes, I forgot to wish you luck on the test, so good luck or Buona fortuna or maybe In bocca al lupo, but not literally! I don’t know whether I should be extra tough at the risk of discouraging learners, or optimistic at the risk of them not getting as high a score as they expected. But I really think you are well prepared and will do a great job. Why are you taking the test? Where would you like to study? Do you live in Florence - or did you say you lived down south like Naples or Sicily?
I am going to apply for mfe (mathematical finance) in usa and uk, mainly ny and london.
I live very close to Florence, but I’m going to take the test in Livorno
