I thought it might be useful to have a thread in which forum members can post info about (or links to) spam that needs to be cleaned up/deleted in the forums. Anybody who spots spam in the forums can post the info here for moderators. I thought this might make life easier for the mods who have the “enviable” duty of having to spot and then also deal with spam.
Jocelyn will be easy to spot because she joined today and immediately posted 6 identical spam advertisements.

EDIT:
I see Barb_D has already spotted Jocelyn. Maybe this thread should be called “Aisle 4”

I don’t know how you identified that one as a spammer, but I do know that there are quite a few new “members” who signed up around the end of July with, shall we say, exxxtremely suspicious-sounding names. I guess Slava will have to deal with that bunch.

Hi, Amy
In fact very easy, the only post he had made, contained some sort of adverticement regarding an image-editor program. But I think Alan had deleted his single post before you could see it
I had sent you a PM, but since it was not read, I’ve now deleted it.
I had made a list of some of the “dodgy” new registrations that appeared at the end of July thinking that you guys probably would rather not have members with X-rated names. (They’re probably all spammers anyway.)
If, in fact, the list I made would be helpful to you, just let me know and I will forward it to you.

I’ve now sent you (via PM) the list I had made of recent registrations with “dodgy” names. There are quite a few of them. If you need any help deleting this sort of garbage, I would be happy to help with that too.

By the way, what is this site’s policy as regards posting advertisements in the forums?
I know that most ESL forums do not permit it unless the advertiser offers free, legal and relevant material to its forum members.
