"someone like you" vs "someone likes you

Dear All,

if I am not a mistaken Someone or something is singular. So please explain to me in this situation. “someone like you” and “someone likes you”. As far as I know “someone likes you” is correct and other one does not. So please tell me whether I am right or wrong

Thanks in advance

Both are possible, but the grammatical structure is different.

In “someone likes you”, the word “likes” is a verb. The subject of the verb is “someone” and the object is “you”.

“someone like you” means “someone who is similar to you”. In this case “like” is a preposition.
