Some universities require students to take classes in many subjects. other universities require students to specialze in one subject. which is better?

University provide students with a variety of courses to deepen and broaden their knowledge. Therefore, students can be successul in the future. Some university require students to take classes in many subjects. Some require them specialize in one subject. In my opinion, I prefer to specialize in one subject. It brings more benefits to students.

First of all, students can get focused on one field and perform well. It is denied that students have to prepare more exams and assignments, if they take many classes in different subjects. It will be more difficult for them to maintain good grades in every exam. For example, when I was in the college, I was major in education and took extra classes in the art department. However, I had a lot of portraits and paintings as homework. Thus, I had to spend two hours on them every day. In a long run, I lost time to prepare my major subject and got bad grades in the final exam.

In addition, students can have a deeper understanding in one subject and get well prepared for a career. Most of the companies are looking for talents who possess a specific ability or the profound profession in certain field. Therefore, as long as we become more professional in one subject, we will have more chances to find a better job. To be more specific, my friend, Amy, who devoted much time in biological researches and received a lot of certificates in the university. Because of her profession and achievements, she is an engineering in a bio-tech company now.

Last but not least, students can make friends with same interests and bond the deep relationship. If we take many classes in many subjects, we usually rush to other classes after class. We are deprived of time to chat and make friends. On the other hand, we will spend more time in class if we only chose one subject. We can make more friends. Besides, having the same viewpoints and topics in the conversation also accelerate the connection between each other.

In conclusion, specializing in one subject is better for the university students. It helps us to maintain higher grades while devoting time to one subject. Also, it is conducive to get deeper understandings and create a good future. What’s more, it is easier to have the endless small talks and make friends in one domain.
