Some people prefer to take a position in a company and work for the company. Other
people think it is better to go into business for themselves. Which do you think is better? Give reasons and examples to support your response.
I have no doubt that I prefer to work in a big company rather to go into my own
business. I think I am kind of a person who needs a lot of training to set up
their own business and it is not propably possible for me. Also I think that
working in a big company is more interesting for me because I like work with
peoples, I like to be a part of a really powerfull company with traditions and
interesting colleagues.
I would like to start with my main reason. I think all people can be divided
into two groups: people who have special skills to be succesfull at their own
business and people who haven’t it. I am pretty sure that I am in a second group.
I had a representative example. Last year in my bisuness
class I have been given an assignment. I had to emulate small business,
whatever I want, every kind of it, but
I had to evaluate all calculations, worked out a business plan and main strategy.
I was wondered that I did it poorly, I couldn’t work out a feasible direction for
my hypotetic business, and according to the professor my business would fail very
quickly. I noticed that some student did it perfectly, but some did not.
I would like to add that my working abilities strongly depend on my mood.
Moreover my mood depends on working enviroment. Excellent working conditions may
inspire me to work diligently and eventually with great result. For example,
in our chemistry lab we usually work in groups. Often important part
of our success is my part, and I fell responsibility on the result, and I am inspired by it.
Moreover I am sure that key to success in a team work is a good mood
and I always try to say jokes, funny stories in order to maintain good
working atmosphere. I like to communicate with people.
I know that set up my own business now is very challenging for me, and if
I had a choice I would definitely prefer to be a part of a big business. Also it
is because I like to work in a big teams. It makes our work less difficult and more
funny. I am sure that things are flexible and may be after several years I will change my mind
and open my own business, but now I don’t fell myself to be a part of a small business.
