Some employers reward members of staff for their exceptional contribution to the company by giving them extra money. This practice can act as an incentivefor some but may have a negative impact on others.
To what extent is this style of management effective?
Are there better ways of encouraging employees to work hard?
My essay:
Giving rewards is always the good way to motivate employees’ contribution. There is no doubt that financial support like extra money is really popular nowadays in the belief that the employees will be sastified with this real support. However, this notion seems to bring the negative impact on others who aren’t on this situation.
Financial support can bring benefit to the employers who deserve it. This money can be valuable things that helping them to improve their life. However, not many people can receive it. In this case, what about others? This type os support unintentionaly creates jealousy among people working in the same environment. That can result in fostering unconvenient, stressful or even hostile working environment. In long term, it is difficult to avoid the reduced productivity of this company.
Instead of using financing support, there have been many other ways better. Mental supports are considered to bring more positive effects than the former. Receiving a congratulation whenever doing a good job is the best recompense towards the staff. It not only is a really simple task but also bring real value. This can boost the optimistic mood of each employee, which is the foundation of cooperation and effect of the job.
In additon, in the case that a group of people, not just an idividual work successfully, holding a party is a good choice of giving reward. This can be a special occasion for the staff relax after hard working. Especially when they fall in line with music, laughing and dancing wholeheartdly. Moreover, this can shorten the distance between people, bring them closer to each other. Therefore, the productivity of working will increase clearly.
In conclusion, financial support can bring benefit to the employees’ who deserve it but in some cases, it can do harm for others. Therefore, mental support can be a better choice when giving reward to appriciate their contribution.
