So you do want the large four-bedroom house after all

:blossom: In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful. :blossom:

Hi!

Conversation:

A: How many rooms do you actually need?
B: Well, I need a place to sleep, a place to sit, a place to cook, and a place to eat, that’s four rooms.
A: Only four rooms. That’s not very many. Are you sure you only need four rooms?
B: Well, I think so.
A: How many bedrooms?
B: One bedroom.
A: Only one bedroom? This is our largest house and it has four bedrooms, so that’s no good
for you, and the smaller one has three bedrooms, and our smallest house or home has
two bedrooms. Would you like this house?
B: No, this is much too small.
A: Would you like this larger one?
B: No, this house is too small also. It’s just not big enough.
A: So you do want the large four-bedroom house after all.

I can’t think of a good synonym.

It means something like “You said you didn’t want one, but you really do want one.” It’s used when the person changes their mind.

After all is considered, the person changes their mind. It is not meant to be confrontational or call the person a liar.
