since then + present perfect?

Hi Molly

Not necessarily, as you should know and guys with a remote connection to the ole isle may choose not to use BrE.
Take the Irish for example.
So this brings my distinction of BrE evenmore in to question, where is Ralf? kidnapped by yetis no doubt ; )

No one else will.

Hi Stew,
By the way, heard a lot about Yeties. Are there any real of them in the world?

Nola

Have you ever seen a photo of MrP?

  1. I have gone to X.

— dynamic; focus on the “going” there.

  1. I have been to (= “at”) X.

— stative; focus on the “being” there.

MrP

Many posts and a few days late, you come up with that, MrP?

And how does it help the questioner?

Also, your dynamic verb take seems to conflict with this, doesn’t it?

Hi guys

Are we arguing on the point of “go to” and dynamism.

Not sure this bickering helps the student either.

Define the word “bickering” in the context of “forum” (a public facility to meet for open discussion).

.
Who says it’s open?
.

The forum?

Hi Molly

Maybe MrM is getting at the point you and Mr P close threads down  with your bickering (I say it is that)

The thread’s still open for you to jump in, Stew. I’d say that off-topic comments (see "Danger David nonsense on other threads for an example) might be just as damaging to a thread as what you call bickering. BTW, why did you leave Amy out of the “gang” of “bickerers” here? She may be upset.

Who was it who recently said: “Wait am I now falling into your trap…?”

I’d say the traps are in the mind and maybe we should leave moderating to moderators, but that’s just me.

Hi Molly,

You right. It’s time to close this thread as you do have a tendency to try and mislead learners by diverting them from the issue at hand and promoting your own agenda. In many cases you are not interested in helping learners but rather in engaging in little spats with other native speakers. Fortunately enough, most our “Language Coaches” and native speaker forum members are very supportive, friendly and give useful advice to our learners.[YSaerTTEW443543]
