TOEIC listening, question-response: Do you think I should see a doctor for this problem?[YSaerTTEW443543]

Do you feel good?
Does Karye loves John?
Do we travel by bus?
Do they like ice-cream?
Do I read that book?
Does my mom cook the diner?
Do my children play a game?

Hi Katya,

Thanks a lot for posting your questions which look very good. Here are some suggestions:

Does Karye love John?

Although this question is possible, it doesn’t sound very natural. These would be better: Shall I read that book?/Am I supposed to read that book?/Am I reading that book?

Your question is grammatically correct but it doesn’t sound very natural. Here is my suggestion: Does my Mom often cook dinner for us?

This question is grammatically correct too but it doesn’t sound very natural either. Here are alternatives: Do my children often play that game?/Are my children playing a game with you?

Keep up the great work!

Torsten[YSaerTTEW443543]

Dear Shafqat,

Thanks a lot for your message. Please find my suggestions below:

So far, all the lessons you have sent me were good.

I will try my best to improve my English as soon as possible.

At first I could not understand how to enter the forums.

Finally I succeeded.

I’m sending you this exercise hoping that there will be fewer mistakes in it.

This is a great way to improve my writing skills.

I will be grateful if you can send me some business materials.

Yes Shafqat, of course you can use the business English materials on our site. Please start by taking this test.

Hi Katya,

Many thanks for sending your new questions. They look excellent and there only a few things I’d like to point out:

Excellent!

I hope so :-).

I hope not :-).

This question is grammatically correct but it doesn’t very natural. Please take a look at these:

  1. Is the baby smiling? (now)
  2. Does the baby often smile?

Very good. Also possible: Do you like playing football?

Excellent!

Keep up the great work!

Torsten[YSaerTTEW443543]

TOEIC listening, question-response: Would you rather get a Blackberry or an I-phone?[YSaerTTEW443543]

Hi Edgar,

How are you today? Thank you very much for posting your questions. They look great and there are only very few suggestions I’d like to make:

Very good question.

Yes, you do!

This question is grammatically correct but it doesn’t sound very natural. Have a look at these:

  1. Are you going to answer my email?
  2. Do you often answer their email? (It wouldn’t make much sense asking someone if they often answer my own email.)

Does she read many books?

Do you often listen to pop music?

You are making great strides and I look forward to your next post.

Regards,
Torsten[YSaerTTEW443543]

TOEIC listening, question-response: You don’t mind if I eat while we talk, do you?[YSaerTTEW443543]

Hello Tonette,

Good morning. How are things with you today? It’s great to see you enjoy creating questions and your results are very promising. Please find my suggestions below:

This question is grammatically correct but it sounds a bit unnatural. Here is an alternative: Do you like driving around with your friend?

Please take a look at would you like vs. do you like. You can say “Would you like some ice-cream?” (right now) or “Do you like ice-cream?” (in general).

Yes, I do.

Also: Do you like teaching us?

Sure, what about you?

Please remember to put the preposition “to” at the end:
Do you need someone to talk to?

You are doing an excellent job and I hope to see your next sentences soon.

Regards,
Torsten[YSaerTTEW443543]

TOEIC listening, question-response: How did you get to work today?[YSaerTTEW443543]

This way is ok for German but in English it is EngliSH.

Hi Abeille,

TOEIC listening, talks: A company president gives a speech at a corporate event[YSaerTTEW443543]

You cannot say [color=red]Do you teach[size=150]ing now[/size]? Here is another Time sense. The right way is [color=green]Do you teach (meaning in general, usually, every week, etc)?
[color=indigo]If you want to point the now time period use Progressive (Continious) tense form and ask your question this way - [color=indigo]Are you teaching now?
Well, for the detailed explanation look in other forum topics or elsewhere, concerning Present Progressive.
