Simple Present III (Unit 9)

He does not like to go to work. (When work = a person’s job, there is no article)
She does not drive a/the car.
It does not like saying anything.
They do not go to school.

The articles are really difficult to get right when you’re not used to them. Don’t worry. Just keep trying.

I do not know grammar.
You do not love me.
He does not like to go to work.
She does not drive a car.
It does not like saying anything.
We do not like rain.
They do not go to school.

I do not like fly airplane.
You do not know where I am now.
He /She/It does not like wash a car.
We do not like watch TV.
They do not go on the job.

thanks for the corrections !

Sonja

I do not like to fly an airplane. - this means you are piloting it.
If you don’t like flying you would say:
I do not like to fly in an airplane.

He/she does not like to wash the/a car.
or
He/she does not like washing the/a car.
You would not use ‘it’ in this context.

We do not like to watch TV
or
We do not like watching TV.

‘They do not go on the job’ does not make sense.

omg…hahaha

are you tired of me?

best regards!!
Sonja

On the contrary, I’m trying to help you see why the mistakes are wrong, rather than just pointing out the errors.

For example, you can see from your structures that you use the base form of the verb without ‘to’, but that is not correct. If you use the base form, you should also generally use ‘to’. If you don’t use ‘to’ then you should use the gerund ‘-ing’ form.

You are surprise me how you fast answer me. Thank you very much for correction. I really have strong desire for improve my grammar. And I want try again and again.

I do not like play tennis.
I do not want have mistakes.
I do not want to talk too much( or: I do not want talking too much)
You do not know how I feel .
You do not want go to sleep early.
He/She/It does not like go to university.
She does not like, if she not looks nice.
We do not have lot a money.
We do not want go shopping. ( or: We do not want go to shopping) I am not sure what is right.
They do not go on party because they thinking that there will not be fun.
They do not want to look movie, because movie is terrible.

So…how is this? I am understand what you said about my mistake, but still I am not sure …am I right use verb " to" and “ing” ?

Thank you very much, Sonja

I do not like playing tennis
or
I do not like to play tennis.

You must use ‘to’ in these structures if you don’t use the -ing form.

You’ve made the same error in these. Perhaps you would like to try to correct them:
I do not want have mistakes.
You do not want go to sleep early.
He/She/It does not like go to university. (Once again you have used ‘it’ where it doesn’t make sense. Do you know the difference between ‘he’, ‘she’ and ‘it’?)
We do not want go shopping. ( or: We do not want go to shopping) I am not sure what is right. HINT: the verb is ‘go’.

These sentences are more complex, and perhaps you need to get the form of the simpler ones first:

I do not want to talk too much( or: I do not want talking too much) <-- You are right with the first sentence, but using the ‘ing’ form in this more complicated sentence you would have to say: I do not want to do too much talking.

She does not like it, if she does not look nice.

We do not have a lot of money.

They do not want to go to the party because they think that it will not be any fun.
They do not want to look at the movie, because the movie is terrible.

I do not want go to the dance.
I do not like what you said about my friend.
I do not want buy new a car.
You do not know anything about my friends.
You do not know playing football.
You do not know to play football.
She do not knows how to dance.
She do not knows how dancing.
He do not likes when it raining.
He do not likes when it to rain.
It do not knows how it to walk.
It do not likes eat soup.
It do not want go to the doctor.
We do not want go to the cinema.
We do not know how will be tomorrow.
They do not want say what they thinking.
They do not want say what they to think.
They do not know how do it that world be better.

best regards!
thank you!!
Sonja

The following are incorrect, Sonja. Perhaps you would like to try them again as I’ve already explained where you are making the error:
I do not want go to the dance. (the verb is ‘go’)
I do not want buy new a car.
We do not want go to the cinema.
They do not want say what they are thinking. (The verb you need to focus on here is ‘say’)
They do not want say what they to think. (The verb you need to focus on here is ‘say’)

These are incorrect for a number of reasons, but the common problem is because the correct for of the verb ‘to do’ when preceded by he, she, it or a singular noun is ‘does’. You have used ‘it’ when referring to going to the doctor. Again, that does not make sense. You don’t seem to understand how to use ‘it’.
She do not knows how to dance.
She do not knows how dancing.
He do not likes when it raining.
He do not likes when it to rain.
It do not knows how it to walk.
It do not likes eat soup.
It do not want go to the doctor.

These are ioncorrect because there are words missing:

You do not know about playing football.
You do not know how to play football.

We do not know how the weather will be tomorrow.

They do not know how do it that world be better. <-- this needs to be recast. I think you have written ‘world’ when you meant ‘would’: They do not know how to do it a better way.

I donot like coffee
You donot want to go home?
They donot come to office on time.
He doesnot want to make friendship with me

‘do not’ is two separate words.

I do not like coffee.
You do not want to go home.
They do not come to the office on time.
He does not want to be friends with me.

Note the full stops at the end of every sentence.

I don’t go to the school because I have not any class on Friday.
I rarely use my Oxford Dictionary because It’s not a learner version and It’s too difficult for me to understand the most of the words what I look for therefore I use Learner’s Dictionary on the Internet.
I think I can’t use comma properly in English.

Have a nice day.

I don’t go to the school because I have not any class on Friday. [color=green]<-- ‘I don’t have a class’ is more standard. As written, it sounds stilted.

I rarely use my Oxford Dictionary because It’s not a learner version and It’s too difficult for me to understand the most of the words what I look for therefore I use Learner’s Dictionary on the Internet.

[color=green]What a long sentence! Sadly it’s overlong. I suggest this:
I rarely use my Oxford Dictionary because it’s not a learner version so it’s too difficult for me to understand most of the words. Instead I look for them in a Learner’s Dictionary on the Internet.
Note that “it’s” does not have a capital ‘i’ unless it is the start of a sentence.

I think I can’t use comma properly in English.
[color=green]Again, it sounds stilted. I suggest:
I don’t think I can use a comma properly in English.

Thank you for the correction.

Learning English isn’t easy. You would like to know English, you have to do something for it.
Do you believe in ‘a gift for languages’? I think some people can learning English easily, other people can’t.

a regular morning has no spark, a good morning is waking next to your lover on a sunny day

You are sounding more and more like a spammer, Neutrinosky. Is that your intention?

hi teacher,
oh…I see my mistake with “to do” and “does” …
thanks for the warning. As far use of “it” you are right … I must learning more…

She does not knows how to dance.
She does not knows how dancing.
He does not likes when it raining.
He does not likes when it to rain.

I do not want to go the dance.
I do not want to buy a new car.
We do not want to go the cinema.

is it correct now?
thank you
Sonja

You still haven’t got it, I’m afraid.

She does not know how to dance.
‘dancing’ does not work in this context.

He does not like it raining.
He does not like it to rain.

Dear Beeesneees,

I wonder where I can find some information about english-test.net’s teachers. I’m just curious.
