hi! this is my first message. These last days I had 2 lessons, one about future simple and another about future continuous, now the learning objective for the next lesson is “you will identify the difference in meaning between Simple Future and Future Continuous and be able to use them effectively.” This is the exercise

Choose the correct form to complete the sentence.
e.g. I will watch/will be watching a movie when you come home tonight
This time tomorrow I will sing / will be singing at the club.
By the time they open, she will shop / will be shopping in a different store.
3.I am going to speak / will be speaking with Mr. Smith by the time you arrive.
4.Harry says he won’t wait / won’t be waiting for you if you arrive late.
I will think/will be thinking about your offer.
In numbers 2 and 3 I chose future continuous because I learned that the connector by the time is often used with such tense. It’s suppossed that I have to choose only one option for each sentence, so I’m confused about 1, 4 and 5.
By the time they open, she will be shopping in a different store.
3.I will be speaking with Mr. Smith by the time you arrive.
4.Harry says he won’t be waiting for you if you arrive late.
I will think about your offer.
In numbers 2 and 3 I chose future continuous because I learned that the connector ‘by the time’ is often used with such tense.– That is a good guideline.
#1 is continuous for the same reason- the meaning is ‘By this time tomorrow’.
#4 only makes sense with the continuous: if the person ‘won’t wait’, then he won’t be there for the late arrival; therefore, he must be still ‘waiting’, or in this case ‘not waiting’, which are durative activities.
#5 is a simple statement of fact; no other activity is mentioned during which ‘thinking’ might occur.
