Should "read" be read as a present tense or past tense verb?

More valuable than treasures in a storehouse are the treasures of the body, and the treasures of the heart are the most valuable of all. From the time you read this letter on, strive to accumulate treasures of the heart!

Should “read” be read as a present tense or past tense verb?

Thanks.

I suggest present tense. It would sound better as - From the moment you read This use of the present is in a sense referring to any time/whenever you read.
