The first one is correct.
divorced (adjective) people
people divorced (verb)

There are many p.p’s working as adjective you should to put AFTER the noun being modified.

Ex.
1.The veccum-cleaner USED should be put back where it was.
2. We have to solve the problems INVOLVEFD.
3. That dog BARKING is Tom’s.
