Shall I omit the word 'very' or not?

If I transform this sentence ‘However Rich Mr Smith is,he is not happy’. into the sentence starting with Although as ’ Although Mr Smith is very rich, he is not happy’., is it grammatically correct? Especially, shall I omit the word ‘very’ or not?

Your sentence is correct in both cases (with or without the word ‘very’). The adverb ‘very’ modifies the adjective ‘rich’ but doesn’t change the fact that Mr Smith is unhappy.

Please let me know if this makes sense.
