Hello Atomos,

Can you explain your answers, please. For example, why did you use “waiting for” instead of “to wait for” in the sentence 4, and why did you use “in” not “on” in the sentence 6.
Thank you!

hello teachers
plz tell me what is meaning of the is sentence

“hope something concrete will come out means”

“I hope something concrete will come out of it.”

I hope that this will lead to a positive, real improvement, etc.
something concrete = something tangible/real/actual/specific (not abstract).

Dear Beeesneees,

Please correct and explain the sentence 4 and 6. Atomos and I have tried to do them, but our answers are different.

Thank you!

Atomos’s versions are correct, Hoado.

Thank you!

Hello Atomos,
Thank you. Can you explain why it is “in” not “on” in the sentence 6, please. I think before Saturday we need put “on”.

Hi Hoado,

Saturday is not the main object; it’s merely a possessive case. The main object is the match; that’s why we have to use “in.” You can also find a similar sentence in Cambridge Dictionary.

dictionary.cambridge.org/diction … spite_1__3

Atomos, thank you!

Though I am not a teacher even, these are my observations. Are any of these correct ones?

Thanks

The correct answer to number 4 has already been given by Atomos.

I included ‘it’ to correct number 18 in post #2. Yes, ‘it’ is needed.

I have been learning English since 2002/ I have learned English since 2002. – There may be one which is your preference, but both are correct.
