Is this sentence semantically acceptable or unacceptable?

My dog and I sometimes have long conversations.

My answer is:

(My dog) can’t (have long conversations), while (I) can (have long conversations).
(My dog) is an (animal) and the Verb (have long conversations) or (having long conversations) needs a (Human) to do it so.

So the sentence is semantically unacceptable.

Although it’s logically unacceptable, the inference and meaning beyond the literal should be considered. It’s all part of the richness of the language and playing with words.

Of course it’s understood that a dog cannot talk, but the meaning here is that the dog and owner have a certain sense of understanding each other.
