Schedule For / On Date ?

Hello Everyone

Could you please help me the word “schedule” goes with the preposition For or On in this example ?.

The Event is scheduled for/on 12th Dec 2012.

I looked up the dictionary, “For” seems to be a correct choice. But I found they used “on” in this site english.vietnamnet.vn/en/what-on … -1-10.html

That makes me confused.

Could we use "Schedule on " + Location (google had many result for this usage).

scheduled for… is the better of the two choices.
It is scheduled for that particular day.

Thank you , Beeesneees

I wonder why For is “better” ? That means “ON” is also a possible choice ?
Could we use "Schedule on " + Location ?

Personally I;d use
‘scheduled for…’
or
‘Scheduled to take place on…’

There are very few circumstances where ‘scheduled on’ would be correct.
